Celebrate the Goodness of the Lord

Celebrate the Goodness of the Lord!

Scripture:

“OH, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to the Lord with the voice of triumph! For the Lord most high is awesome” (Psa. 47:1, 2; NKJV).

Reflections:

When a person of prominence enters a room, we render the proper courtesies that are in line with the protocol for the moment. When the achievements of a person are published, we celebrate them with unrestricted praises and applauses. When a king enters in, we pay obeisance because we recognize his position and his regal authority that gives him access to any and all things and situations.

Today, my friends, I invite you to join in one voice and in a crescendo as we lift a shout to celebrate the goodness of the King of all kings and the Lord of all Lords. For He has entered in our midst. He has entered our lives and situations today with all authority to turn our darkness into light, our struggles into breakthroughs, our miseries into miracles. God is here to bless you today. In fact, you are blessed and highly favored of the Lord. So, clap your hands all you peoples! Lift up with me, triumphant choruses, for our Lord, the Most High, He is awesome. He has done great and marvelous things for us, whereof we are glad. Think for a moment on all that the Lord has done for you. Those small miracles that were seeds for the big miracles that you are experiencing today; those impossible moments that became possibilities; those raging storms and swelling seas that almost consumed you; my friends, if nothing else, just take a look at yourself and your situations and see where the Lord has brought you from and what the Lord has done for you, then give Him an unrestricted praise, for HE IS WORTHY TO BE PRAISED!.

David the Psalmist a man after God’s own heart, penned these words as his testimony of God’s goodness and His greatness as he recognized God as His defense: “If it had not been for the Lord who was on my side…then they would have swallowed us alive;…then the waters would have overwhelmed us;…our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psa. 124:1, 3, 4, 8; NKJV).

My dear family, you have a reason today to clap your hands and to lift up your voices in celebration to our most high and awesome God. Stop and think of where
you are today in relationship to where you used to be. If it had not been for the Lord who was on your side, you would have been consumed by those vicious storms of life. This is your testimony; tell of the goodness of the Lord. Our most high and awesome God has come to us this day, therefore, let us clap our hands and lift up our voices and celebrate the goodness and the greatness of our God. HE IS WORTHY OF ALL OUR PRAISE!

Points for Contemplation:

1. Perhaps you are burdened today and cannot find the strength to lift your hand in praise. Just whisper this to the Lord, He is listening! Lord, I am wearied and worn and tired. I lift up my heart in total praise to you. No other action required. Let your praise flow from within.

2. What is your greatest burden today? Just whisper to the Lord: Lord I lay my burdens at the foot of the cross. Restore me in strength so that I may offer you unrestricted praise.

3. Do you have a song in your heart? Begin to sing softly with a focus and meaning until you are lost in the presence of God. You will find strength there. “In the presence of the Lord, there is fullness of joy; at His right hand, there are pleasures for evermore.”

4. Read again: “OH, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to the Lord with the voice of triumph! For the Lord most high is awesome” (Psa. 47:1, 2; NKJV). Can you move to the place of praise? Open your mouth and let the words of praise flow out of your heart.

5. God inhabits the praises of His people. So lift up your praise and change the atmosphere of your situation. God will dwell in the midst. If you praise Him, your blessings might just be in your next clap and your next shout!

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I thank you for the resilience that I feel, just from clapping my hands and shouting out triumphantly. I know that you delight in the praises of your children. Lift me up to the place of praise, there I know you delight yourself. Though I am loaded down with the burdens of life, yet will I praise you. So Lord,
with all that I have and with all that I am, I choose to praise you today. Bring the power of your kingdom to influence change in every aspect of my life and let the fountain of grace refresh and replenish my life as I continue along my pilgrim journey. Thank you for all that you are in my life. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
