Scripture:

“And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians where fleeing into it. So the Lord overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained” (Exod. 14:27, 28; NKJV).

Reflections:

You are no longer in bondage, but on your way to the place of promise. The Apostle Paul offers this word of encouragement: “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made you free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage” (Gal. 5:1; NKJV). But you come to the swelling seas of life and your past still taunting you, pelting words of intimidation and fear. It seems as though you are halted by circumstance and situations. You are faced with a dilemma. What do you do when you are faced with impossible and uncertain situations?
This was Israel’s plight. But out of their test, they celebrated a rich testimony of God’s delivering power. What God did for Israel then, He can do for you TODAY! RIGHT NOW! The enemy pursued the children of Israel in mass; choice chariots and horsemen, but can I tell you that God had a plan? Yes He did! Listen, perhaps your past is pursuing you in mass. The thought of your past, poses a threat to you—bondage from financial constraints or setbacks, past relationships, ill-habits, illnesses, etc. Here you are standing at the corridors of uncertain and impossible situations—the raging seas of life stirs up fear in you. Beloved, hear the Word of the Lord! As it was for Israel, so it comes to you as your confidence today: “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians (your enemies) whom you see today, you shall see them again, no more forever. The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace” (Exod. 14:13, 14; NKJV).

Today, I wish to speak to your hearts. Hear me clearly! What you thought was a mass attack against you, was really God’s preparation for a mass burial of the enemy so that you can celebrate the manifestation of your miraculous breakthroughs.

The concept of this idea of a breakthrough is given to us in the story of the defeat of the Philistines. “’So David went to Baal Perizim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The Lord has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore, he called the name of that place Baal Perizim”’ (2Sam. 5:20; NKJV). Baal Perizim means Master of Breakthroughs or Lord of the breakthroughs!

I ask you today to speak forth blessings and breakthroughs over your life and loved ones. For your breakthrough is in your mouth. It is not what you read from the Word of God that changes your situations or stations in life, rather it is what you speak forth from the Word of God, that is what makes all the difference. You have to hear what you speak. This is what builds up your
faith to speak to those mountains. For death and life is in power of the tongue. Speak forth blessings and breakthroughs over your life and loved ones today. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

Points of Contemplation:

1. Fear is of the enemy. FEAR: False Evidence Appearing Real. “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7; NKJV). What is in your past that still taunts you? What are you afraid of?

2. How do you see God in your situation or station in life?

3. Do you sometimes think that God needs your help? Do you totally trust the Lord to work out your situations?

4. If you cannot trace the Lord, you can still trust Him. What is your level of trust in the Lord?

Prayer:

O Lord, You have demonstrated to us on so many occasions that You are our present help in the time of trouble. Forgive us for the times that we have failed to reckon with Your presence in the midst of our storms. Today, we pray that we can allow Your Word to transform our lives as we speak those promises over our lives and our loved ones, for a mighty breakthrough. You are the Master of Breakthroughs—The Lord of the breakthroughs. Command a fresh season over us this day. As You were with the children of Israel to deliver them, so be with us today to discomfit our enemies, even our past. Bury all our past in the raging swifts and lead us to the place of promise where we will erect altars of PRAISE and THANKSGING unto You for Your goodness and your greatness. We pray in the matchless and most holy name of our Lord Jesus who is our Christ. Amen!
