A Love Letter at Advent

Scripture:

“The Lord has appeared of old to me saying, “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Therefore, with lovingkindness I have drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:3; NKJV).

- The season of Advent can be a lonely and loveless season – People are dismayed and brokenhearted. In times like these, there is a longing or yearning in our soul.
- We stand in expectation for better days – We await a word that can cure our wounded soul; a word that will satisfy our longings.
- We need a “Right Now” word – We need a love letter from the One who can make a difference in our lives. God is the One who sends that special love letter that can satisfy our soul’s longing – He makes the difference!
- He sent us a love letter, in the Person of His Son…, The Word who became flesh and dwelt among us.

And The Word (The Love Letter) became flesh and dwelt among us!

Take Action:

God has sent you a love letter in this Advent Season:
1. RECEIVE it with Joy.
2. READ it with understanding.
3. REFLECT on it until you get a REVELATION from it.
4. RESPOND to it by living out His will for your life. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you through.
5. RELEASE it to encourage, especially those who find themselves in the tough seasons of life.

Points of Reflection:

God writes to tell you today that:
1. His love is DEPENDABLE. The giving of His Son Jesus Christ and through His finished work of redemption (In His death on the Cross, burial, and resurrection) makes this effective and dependable. (Read & Reflect on John 3:16).
2. His love can DELIVER you from the onslaught of the enemy. (Read & Reflect on 2 Samuel 22:2-3; See also Psalm 18:2).
3. His love can make the DIFFERENCE. Because of God’s love for us, we are compelled to do what is required to adapt to the change that has come over our lives. (Read & Reflect on 1 John 4:7-11).
4. His love can bring us DELIGHT.
5. His love DECLARES that ALL IS WELL! God says in His love letter to us: I AM ENOUGH!”

Jesus is God's love letter to the world -- The Word made flesh..!
 

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for that special word that is making the difference in my life. You Word is what I need to calm my soul in these turbulent seasons. With Your lovingkindness, draw me closer to You, until I realize that YOU ARE ENOUGH! I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.
