Walking with Jesus: Bear Fruit!

Fruit is the manifestation of all that’s contained in a seed. The condition of the fruit is determined by what has influenced it to become what it is. Influences of righteousness produce fruits of righteousness, and similarly, the converse is true. The fruit determines one’s own vocation. To walk as Jesus walked is fruitful and to seek pathways contrary to His Word and His way is futile. There are no discrepancies or inconsistencies in this. Speaking of a seed is one thing, but it is what is manifested that determines the value of the seed. We shall know them by the fruit they bear. Lifestyle, character and influences are a true assessment of what was in the seed—these factors are an expression of what was resident within the soul. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of him, is what defiles him. It is not the outward appearance that expresses the true nature of a man, but really, it is what is within the man that announces his preoccupations and propensities—his design. The pressures of life tend to reveal the true nature of a person. Jesus can cultivate seeds of righteousness and faithfulness. He can inspire Christian character and integrity, and He can unlock the real self that is influenced to walk in obedience to His will. What fruit are you bearing? Be a fruit that is influenced by the Word of God. Grow in grace and be a reflection of Christ to the world. Bear fruit! The best ones come from the Holy Spirit. Walk in them: Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When you are influenced by the Holy Spirit, then your fruit will be reflected in these virtues. Walk with Jesus and bear much fruit.

Scripture Meditations:

Passion Points:

Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control

Prayer:

Father, forgive me for the times that I walked contrary to Your will. May my life be influenced by Your Spirit so that I may bear fruit that is pleasing in Your sight. Grant that my life be a reflection of these virtues, so that others may walk in holy obedience to your will. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
